NEWSLETTER FOR SEPTEMBER 22, 2004Attendance:
Nuboer,
Schmitz, Heller, Coulter, Summers, Borror, Sladen’s, Bilger. Rotary
news: Mitchell’s
are traveling over the south to visit grandkids and great-grandkids. Hope
they are safe with the hurricanes. Judy is on vacation this week. Beatrice
and Loic were missing… Looking
back over old newsletters this editor has some questions: What Xmas tree
materials are we awaiting, Mr. President? And, since when is Janet on the
Foundation Board? Roger Jacobs was the third board member until his
resignation last week. A new member is needed. There will NEVER be a
husband and wife sitting on that
board simultaneously. Very bad plan! Find another member, guys. One
of the upcoming meetings should be finishing up the by-law changes and
naming a new board member for the Scituate Rotary Foundation. Also, what
are we doing to recognize Mr. Driscoll’s new status? Wednesday’s
meeting: H$S$ highlights – Jack told a great story
about We began reviewing the Board of Director meeting but did not make much progress. The club finances are in excellent shape and therefore we can afford to send the president to the district conference each year. Also, we can fund anyone who wants to attend District day events. We owe money to the food pantry and the South Shore Council. All of these expenses come from the club account – NOT the Foundation account. This is member money, not donated monies. We need to do more committee work. Maybe we can use the regular Wednesday meeting to do some committee work…Finalizing details for phonebook, planning our Centennial visibility, vocational service activities, etc. I am out of space and words. Sorry for the delay. Janet
