Meeting Highlights: April 2, 2003 The Chapter's Finer, S.A.A. Dietrich, at the request of President Janet, has extended his offer to fine any member who does not bring a prospective member to the next three meetings. Every member who attended last week's Club Night (there were only eight), was fined. We had two guests, Karen Kelly for the fourth time, and Matt Mac Donald, for the second time. Also in attendance, President Janet, Dietrich, Ben, Bart, Alden, Donn, Judy and Roger. Happy/Sad Bucks from: Alden, Bart, Ben, Donn and Matt. Fines paid by: Bart, Dietrich, Donn, Janet and Judy. Assistant District Gov. Angela Ponte of Quincy will attend our $1 Million dinner April 9th at Judy's. She will become Governor on July 1st for the 2003-2004 year. Paul Welch, our Asst. Gov., will step up to Gov. for the 2004-2005 the 100th anniversary year of Rotary International. President Janet, Bart and Ben attended the District Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Newport, RI this past weekend. You will probably hear about it at Judy's. Bart reported on his attendance at the recent President Elect Training Seminar. He came back with a list of 21 fund raisers the chapter may be interested in attempting. (We need a few more to meet our Rotary International commitments.) Of course, if we sell more ads for our Phone Book next fall (printing and distribution early in 2004) we may not need another fund raiser! And if we sell more tickets to our Heritage Days Pancake Breakfast, we definitely may not need another. We will have two Scituate delegates to the World Affairs seminar in Wisconsin. They are Georgia Talcott and Timur Ochkhaev, the Russian exchange student. Ben Summers, Editor/Publisher |
