Scituate Light Newsletter May 7, 2003 John Ryan will be installed as District Governor on June 26, 6:30 p.m. at the Lantana in Randolph. Cost is $30 per person. Attendance last week: President Janet, treasurer Sue Katz, secretary Ben, vice president Bart, S.A.A. Dietrich, past presidents Alden, Donn, Walter, Paula, Roger and Judy, Matt, Karen & Joe Kelly. Happy/Sad Bucks: Dietrich (his son's baseball team won), Judy (happy to be back from Key West), Paula (happy to return, went salmon fishing on Lake Ontario), Alden (glad to see Paula back), Karen (happy to attend), Janet (successful day on the phone, got 8 businesses to advertise in the Phone Book, happy to see Paula), Walter (sailed his friend's 32 foot sailboat around Boston Harbor), Bart (attended Quincy Rotary silent auction and Cohasset Rotary meeting), Ben (his softball team won its first game and happy to see Jed a week ago). Fines: Janet (mentioned in Rotary pamphlet), Paula (didn't have directory to check on meetings while on vacation), Bart (gave Cohasset Rotary one of our pennants); Dietrich (didn't wear his Rotary pin). Dietrich won the raffle but did not pick the Queen. Next meeting winner will draw only one card to help increase the size of the pot for the next winner. It was also voted that the person who wins more than $150 must buy a round of drinks for those in attendance. Janet had a meeting with the principal of Wompatuck School to discuss the Walk to School project which we are sponsoring as our Centennial Year program. Each member was given pages in the White section of our Phone Book to solicit for new ads for the next edition. Bart: Incoming R.I. president Jonathan Majiyagbe of Kano, Nigeria will hold Presidential Celebrations this coming year. The one day events will feature one subject to be stressed.
