WEEKLY NEWS – COMMENTS:

The installation of Beatrice Hurwitch (and hopefully Karen Kelley) will take place next Wednesday evening. We began our new Rotary year with 10 Rotarians (of 20), 2 incoming members, and Connie Mitchell present. Sue Katz and Dietrich were away and Matt was tied up at work. It was President Bart’s moment to enlighten us on what he hopes to accomplish in his year as our President. His 1st club night was his stage and he covered “23 points”. The membership present requested that he sit down and eat the main course so we could have a few moments of fellowship!

Please read your Rotarian this month – It is fantastic!

The Presidential Citation went missing at the Installation – Has anyone seen it or does anyone have it?

MEETING HIGHLIGHTS:  We accomplished very many things:

  • Dietrich is “President Elect,” IPP Janet is now “President’s Spouse.”

  • Website “CONTACT” numbers to be added verified

  • We will sing “God Bless America ” after the pledge

  • We will try a lunch club but in Marshfield , not Scituate .

  • Financial rules: money from outside of club to be spent outside of the club; money from inside the club to be spent on club expenses.

  • Joan Lind fund must remain in tact. Only interest can be used. The nursing scholarship just awarded must be met with phonebook money from this year.

  • $2 meal charge for Sustaining Membership will continue.

  • Ankor Project will be supported through underwriting.

  • Prison Fellowship will be supported through underwriting.

We are now financially able to pay the expenses of publication and mailing. The rest is our profit and fund most of what we do as a club. Last year’s intake was $44K.
