Meeting Highlights: October 30, 2002 THIS WEEK Was
one of the only three empty seats at the table yours? If so you
missed a very relaxing, informative meeting. There were many
happy bucks for Al being released from South Shore Hospital to go to a
rehab facility. Other happy bucks were received for; a nice week
long visit with relatives, a class A check-up after heart surgery, a
welcome home, going on an over night trip to N.H., a sailing trip and for
enjoying working on the Phone Book and the Million Dollar Meal for the
first time. Then there were some fines for those not working on our
biggest fund raiser, the Phone Book, and not wearing a name badge. Dietrich
has pledged to donate $10.00 for each signed Sustaining Member.
Thank you Dietrich. During dinner there was lots of communicating
with one another and sharing of trips to various museums and art
galleries. Our
speaker for the evening was our own Bart Nuboer, Financial Investment
Agent. He informed us he had been in the business for 30 years in
such countries as Holland, England and the United States. He passed
around some interesting advertising pictures suggesting things to think
about when investing. His advice: "do just the opposite from
what the general thought is when investing and put all of your eggs in one
basket." ( Do you have the right basket?) Next week will be a guest and spouses night. Our guest speaker will be our District Chairman for Polio Plus. He will be speaking on how the Polio Plus Program works right here in our District. Pat Henderson - Reporter
