FROM THE PRESIDENT Congratulations to us! Last Thursday night 6 of us braved the drive to Mansfield to attend the annual Rotary Foundation Dinner. The invitation said we needed 10 people to "reserve" a table but apparently 6 was a noteworthy number. A table sat waiting for the 6 of us. We were joined at our table by 2 Cohasset Rotarians who shared their club's ideas for fund raising and club management. When it came time to stand if you were a Sustaining Member, they were left sitting in a small sea of standing Rotarians. Then came their (and ours) greatest surprise! The Scituate Rotary Club was acknowledged for having the highest percentage of members as Sustaining Members. District Governor Ann acknowledged the Bourne Sandwich club and us! It was very exciting. The speaker, Frank Collins of the Rotary Foundation, spoke about the most personal stories that he has witnesses using the money from the Rotary Foundation. It was an inspiring presentation and made us each very proud and satisfied that we are a part of this amazing organization. And that we have now chosen to contribute more generously to it. For your information, District 7950 has the dubious honor of being lowest contributor to the RF in our zone (a zone is made up of approx. 60 Districts). Shame on us! I am very pleased that we are improving our contribution. The work they do in our name is huge. I will bring the certificate to the meeting Wednesday evening. One other note that I made last night: The Weymouth Club (75 members, or so) have a new web site they are very proud of! They got a great deal: Only $1000 to create it and $50 a month to maintain it! Ok, so they have pictures and a 'secure site' but what a bargain we have! THANK YOU WALTER AND SUE!!! Yours in Rotary,
