Light Newsletter We
had a full house plus Stephen Corthell, our speaker, and Connie Mitchell to
hear about cameras. Special guests
Donna and Michael Cousineau joined us, daughter and son-in-law
of Carol Sladen. Donna is in charge of the Water Department Office in
town. President
Bart started the business of the day with beaucoup thank you’s from the
senior citizenry that attended our Senior Dinner last week. Of course that
glass of wine made it even
merrier. The club voted to send 2 students to the White
Water Convention
in Wisconsin
next month. It will cost an extra $500 for the second contestant, and President
Bart assures us we have the money to contribute. Also, Bill Coulter is
doing the legwork to find the appropriate
restaurant for our Club meetings. (Tough job to go from restaurant
to restaurant, testing the wares.) It looks like it’s coming down to
Jamie’s in HAPPY/SAD
BUCKS: President Bart and Janet for babysitting 2 of 9 grandchildren; Carol
happy for her daughter’s attendance with Mike; Ben happy to survive the busy
weekend that included his grandson
Zachary winning 2 trophies for Kung Fu (trophies bigger than Zach); Judy for
taking a day off in preparation for granddaughter’s christening event; Alden
for Red Sox/Yankee wins 3 to 1, a pleasant visit with niece in Pulaski, NY and
the doctor check-up saying he’s good for another 10,000 miles; Beatrice happy
to have support from her friends during a flu re-occurrence; Joe is relieved to
survive the tax season and happy about Gail’s rehab. Walter
Heller is proud of his “Three Musketeers” picture from the District
meeting. He asks that all club
members sign up to host meetings during his coming presidential year. Also,
please give him current pictures of club activities so we can update the
website. Our condolences to Sue Cellucci, author of our website, for the loss
of her brother. The
2004 District
Conference will be in our backyard this year— Steve
Corthell of Noble’s Cameras, was a stand-in for Brian Noble, but he caught our
attention right away. He brought three of the new digital cameras ranging from
$200 to $1000, and went on to explain how the new world of photography is
entirely removed from the Kodak Brownie. In fact, Kodak doesn’t even make
cameras any more! The comfort and ease of their use and film processing makes
them a necessity for anyone with children, grandchildren or pets. With a
beautiful silver |
