Meeting Highlights: September 25, 2002 Around The Chapter Assistant Governor Paul Welch of Weymouth attended last week's meeting. Also, George Bohsack, a guest of Dietrich's attended his third consecutive meeting. Happy & Sad Bucks were contributed by Sue Katz (she visited Jack Borror), Dietrich, Paul, Audrey, Walter, Ben and George. Past president Walter Heller distributed copies of members names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses along with copies of the District Governor's newsletter. Judy Rego won the raffle but did not pick the Queen of Hearts. Rotary District 7950 will hold its annual Rotary Foundation seminar at the Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford, October 19th. Registration is at 8 a.m. and the workshop concludes with lunch at 12:10 p.m. Are you familiar with the many educational and humanitarian programs of the Rotary Foundation? Do you know what happens to the money we send to the Foundation? Are you clear on the facts about SHARE? These questions and others will be answered at the seminar. Cost is $25. It was recommended by co-chairmen Stephen Lawler of Eastham and Stephen Mecca of Jamestown, RI that clubs pay for all their attendees. See Janet if you would like to attend. The Jamestown, RI Club will hold its Bicycle Race to raise funds for the eradication of Polio on October 14th. The Club will double all Rotarian registrations. Fee is $25 per entrant. Brochures were distributed last week. Deadline is October 7th. Send your check to Jamestown Rotary Club, c/o Steve Mecca, 5 Aquidneck Court, Jamestown, RI 02835. The Manning, SC Rotary Club is selling 6,000 tickets at $25 each and is raffling a 1978 Cessna 152. See President Janet for details. Dietrich attended a Rotary Club meeting in Singen, Germany on his most recent trip. Walter attended the South Shore Council meeting in South Weymouth a couple of weeks ago and heard a member from Bangladesh speak. October 23, $1 million dinner at Pat Henderson's 6:30 p.m. and is being coordinated by Judy Rego. October
